BIOGRAPHY
Donna Silverio works between reality and imagination, crafting a world where the extraordinary meets the familiar. Immigrating from the Philippines to the United States at a young age, she turned to art as a form of escape and empowerment, using fantasy as a refuge from feelings of displacement and uncertainty in a new country. She infuses her creations with elegant wonder, experimenting with jewelry, couture techniques, intricate embroidery, and textile development to bring her fantastical visions to life. Through her art, she invites viewers into a realm where the mundane is transformed into the sublime. However, it is more than just escapism; it is a celebration of resilience and the boundless potential of the human spirit. Her art is a reminder that we have the power to imagine, create, and shape our own realities.
Currently, she is based in New York City designing for fashion brands she loves such as Marc Jacobs, Bode, Christian Dior, Area, and Marchesa. Her specialization is in jewelry and surface embellishments. On her free time, she likes to go to museums, eat good food, and create fantasy illustrations and paintings.
